In Memory of Forrest Vereen

Our world is a sadder place following the death of Forrest Vereen over Labor Day weekend.  Forrest was one of our earliest volunteers in Madison County Habitat and worked on our first Habitat home (although not quite as early as depicted in one of the photos below).  As a very young man, he was a quick study and became an indispensable volunteer on the crew.  He was a friend to people from all walks of life and could find common ground for conversation with anyone.  We miss him dearly.

His family asked for donations to Madison County Habitat in lieu of flowers.  Please visit back to this page as we develop more plans for this memorial.  Peace be with Forrest.  Peace be with us all.  May our happy memories of better days and our faith bring us all comfort in the days ahead. Thanks to all of you who are honoring the life of Forrest and helping his memory live on.

John Bell of Wide Spread Panic wrote this story about Forrest and his life.  He has captured the life of Forrest, how he touched us all and how he will be missed.
